Project/ Activities

With the assistance grant from UNESCAP and Asian Development Bank (ADB), six Communitiy e-Centers are being established in Nepal. As an executive government agency, Ministry of Information and Communicaiton (MoIC) is implementing the project. Six VDCs that will have CeCs are Phikkal (Ilam); Futung (Kathmandu); Dhaibung (Rasuwa); Sundar Bazaar (Lamjung); Bijauri (Dang); and Baliya (Kailali). In this project same is being done in Bangladesh, India and Bhutan (the SASEC nations). For more information, contact Planning and Monitoring division at MoIC.

As a third project component after baseline study and national stakeholders meeting, community needs assessment workshops have been completed. These CeCs will be launched at the end of 2008. Regional workshop was held during April 16-18, 2008, in New Delhi.
